From the brilliant opening-credits sequence to the physics-centric game engine to the clever puzzles and cooperative gameplay, LittleBigPlanet shows what happens when you mix carefully devised original game design with a commitment to fun. The most significant aspect of the game is that players can create their own levels to share with the world. While it’s not the first game to offer this feature, LittleBigPlanet makes the process so simple, provides so many options and threads the process into the single-player game so seamlessly that it opens up game design to anyone with a little imagination and a lot of time. The Best Video Games of 2008

one guy's top ten best games of 2008 list
