mlb 2010: the show

The latest installation of the Playstation-exclusive baseball franchise, MLB 2010: The Show dropped this week and while it is still the same great game that baseball fans flock to, it also introduces a couple of new features and different gameplay elements. For one, the online play is supposed to be improved. Additionally there are new ways to play, including the Home Run Derby element and Catcher Mode. The game also has improved daylight transitional lighting as well as a Movie Maker tool that lets players assemble different clips and replays into one movie to share. There are also 11 new stadiums represented in the game. The 2010 edition also adds the option for full 1080p display which is a nice addition but you have to jump through some hoops to get it set correctly. My one other quibble would probably be the soundtrack - as the girlfriend of an addicted The Show player I had come to love the 09 soundtrack and the new one is simply not as good. Regardless, if you are an MLB fan with a PS3 you surely won't want to miss MLB 2010: The Show.
